Hamlet Without The Prince, 2014-ongoing

Hamlet Without The Prince is a performance inquiry, through which I explore the internal and external parcelling of my body—from the kingdom of illness to the world of prescribed ‘normalcy.’ This work has been significantly shaped by Susan Sontag’s seminal book, Illness As A Metaphor. In its initial phase, the acts draw from my personal experience with an illness that began in my adolescent years. Gradually, the inquiry transitions towards examining the dynamics of the fish and meat market as a metaphorical space of transformation for the body.
