Hamlet Without The Prince – Market, 2021-ongoing

As a parallel to the performance inquiry the work took itself within the space of fish and later meat markets across India and the UAE. Within my practice, the market or fish sellers on pedestrians of India were initially a constant visit for the procurement of material – fish scales. Over the last few years the walks have been a source reading into the regional iconography of the fish – as an animal, outside and inside the peripheries of food and mythology alongside reading the dynamics of market as a space of resurrecting the body. The acts were performed in Kolkata, Goa, Ahmedabad and Dubai.
